IMS was on fire early and went on to overwhelm Wapello Friday in Hillcrest Union, defeating the Indians 85-36.  IMS jumped to a 29-7 first quarter lead and then extended it to 52-18 at the half.  On a night where everyone in an IMS uniform scored, Brian Hagedorn led the way with 20 points on 9-11 from the floor.

Johnny Lackender tallied 13 points on 6-6 field goal shooting and Dallas Nye was 5-7 for 11 points.  Chance Miller also scored 11 points, including three treys.  Peyton Thompson scored nine points, Cameron Gingerich had six, Randy Ropp and Reggie Hostetler added four apiece, Dillon Bender had three, and Zach Hill and Joel Shetler completed the scoring with two points each.

Miller had a team-high six assists and Nye had four assists.  Hagedorn had six rebounds and Lackender five to lead IMS.  Cameron Gingerich had a team-leading three steals, with Reggie Hostetler and Miller right behind with two.  Lackender added three blocks.

Coach Dwignt Gingerich said “we were able to get some things off our press early and I thought we moved the ball well to help us get good shots.  On nights like this when the ball goes in, it certainly makes things a lot easier.”

The win moves IMS to 4-0 in conference play.  IMS next plays at Washington Saturday.
