IMS got their first win of the season Tuesday night defeating Louisa Muscatine 47-31. IMS started off slow falling behind 5-0 with five minutes gone by in the opening period, but ended the quarter strong with a 15-5 run capped off by an Olivia Yutzy three as time expired. The defense turned it up a notch in the second quarter, allowing only four points in the period, and IMS went into halftime with a 23-14 lead.

on both ends. With four minutes to go in the third, L-M was able to cut the lead to seven at 26-19, but that was as close as they got the rest of the night. IMS finished strong, outscoring L-M 21-12 from that point on to win convincingly.
Coach Aaron Gingerich commented, “This was a team effort. Every one of the girls stepped up and played a big role for us tonight. They have been working so hard in practice and it paid off for them tonight.” IMS was led by Olivia Yutzy, who scored a career high 24 points to
go along with 10 rebounds and three steals.
