IMS lost a heartbreaker Saturday night at English Valley. IMS started the opening quarter slow and found themselves behind 7-11 at the end of one. IMS got it going in the second quarter led by the three point shooting of Laura Hochstetler and Kristin Davis and went into halftime with a 21-18 lead. IMS continued their hot shooting and started the third on a 7-2 run to lead 28-18 with a couple minutes gone by in the period but English Valley would not go away. Led by a pair of freshman, they went on a 15-5 run of their own to take a 35-33 lead into the final quarter. The lead went back and forth throughout the period, as neither team could make a run to put the other out of reach. A foul put English Valley to the line ahead by one with 11 seconds remaining. The shooter hit the first and missed the second making it a 42-40 game, giving IMS a final opportunity to tie or take the lead. IMS found Yutzy open at the top of the key, but her shot fell short as time expired.
