IMS fell to Pekin Friday night at IMS 25-48.  IMS struggled to put points on the board early and found themselves in a 9-2 hole after the first quarter.  A strong second quarter, capped off by a Kristin Davis three as the half expired, sent IMS into the locker room down seven 15-22.  IMS went on another scoring drought and was able to manage just one field goal in the third quarter, making it a 17-31 game heading into the final quarter.  Pekin put the game out of reach with a 6-0 run to start the fourth.

Coach Aaron Gingerich commented “We struggled to make shots but I was happy with the girls effort throughout the game.  I felt like we had good energy and competed the entire way.  We never gave up and can be proud of that.”  IMS was led by Kristin Davis who scored seven points to go along with five steals.  Olivia Yutzy and Laura Hochstetler finished with five points apiece.  Riley Schmieder had four, Celia Hostetler had three, and Casey Perez rounded out the scoring with one.  IMS falls to 0-3 on the season, while Pekin moves to 3-0.
