The IMS volleyball team placed second in pool play Thursday night and will advance to the SEISC finals on Saturdya.  Everything came together on Thursday night.  IMS was able to defeat Cardinal, Van Buren and Maharishi in two games each and lost to Holy Trinity in three games.  Coach Cindy Miller said “The highlight for us was beating HolyTrinity Catholic (rated 3rd in Class 1A) in one game.  Even though we couldn’t pull out the match win it was still a great moral victory taking them to three games.”  Laura Hochstetler shined on defense stopping Holy Trinity hitters with a couple blocks, 20 defensive digs and then offensively putting down six kills.  Olivia Yutzy’s 12 -12 serving was also crucial in that win.  “I was impressed with the teams ability to work together and to remain composed in such a tough game,” commented Coach Miller.

In the finals against Mediapolis on Saturday night, IMS served 100% as a team but just couldn’t handle their tough serving and aggressive hitters.  We play Louisa-Muscatine and WACO at home this week.
