Jesse Shetler

The IMS boys did not have enough runners to field a full team at the Fairfield invitational Thursday night. Five runners are needed to score as a team. Two juniors and one senior have left the team since running in the IMS Early Bird last week. Senior Jesse Shetler did run in Fairfield and was the only runner from either squad to medal placing tenth with a time of 19:07. Freshman Kirby Shetler was the team’s next finisher placing thirteenth in 19:29. Rex Yoder competed in his first high school race placing thirty-eighth while Kobi Russom placed fortieth. Bennett Moser of Wapello won the boys race in 16:05.

The Iowa Mennonite girls cross country team had four runners compete in the varsity race in Fairfield Thursday. Freshman Renee Buckwalter was the first finisher placing fourteenth in 18:05. Madeline Miller was twenty-third in 19:20 a full 1:26 faster than her time at the IMS Early Bird meet last week. Jamilya Masylbekova placed thirty-fourth in 22:18 and Michaela Gingerich was 35th in 22:51. Cassandra Stuflick of Danville-New London was the individual titlist.

Camila Segar placed twentieth in the Junior Varsity race finishing with a time of 20:53.
