IMS played in the Mt. Vernon tournament on Saturday, losing all four matches.  The team finished the tournament day with 91% serving (124-137 with 17 aces).  Leading the team on offense was Casey Perez with 41 assists and 100% serving delivering 34-34 with six ace serves.  Olivia Yutzy led the team with 19 kills. Laura Hochstetler had 13 kills and Anya Slabaugh finished with nine kills.  The defensive efforts were led by Laura Hochstetler with 26 digs. Casey Perez and Naomi Miller each had 22 digs respectively. 

“The team showed plenty of character and sparks of greatness thoughout the day.  We served effectively and played hard against some very experienced and top rated teams.  We were competing well in most games but just couldn’t pull out the wins,” commented Coach Miller.  IMS’ overall record is now 2-6 for the season.  IMS plays at home against Highland, Thursday September 8.
